annual Rural Life Mass
LUBBOCK – Most Rev. Robert Coerver, Bishop of Lubbock, will celebrate the Annual Diocese of Lubbock Rural Life Mass Monday, May 5 at 6 p.m., on the Farm of Junior Valverde near Shallowater.
Rejoicing with Mary in May
The Church celebrates the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on May 31. In the Gospel according to Luke, Mary, with child, hastily travels to the hill country to visit her cousin Elizabeth, who is also pregnant. Elizabeth, we will come to see, will have a son, named John.

Ride to Fight Suicide
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (10805 Indiana Ave) in Lubbock, will host the Ride to Fight Suicide by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention on May 31. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with kickstands up at 9 a.m. The ride goes to Post, Ralls, and back to the church with beautiful curvy scenery, approximately 100 miles. Registration is $35 for every rider/driver and $25 for a passenger. Registration will increase to $40/30 on the day of the event. Breakfast will be provided.
